Walnut and Chestnut Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup (tea) of walnuts
- 1 cup (tea) of Brazil nuts
- 6 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
- 2 1/2 cups (tea) of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups (tea) of hot milk
- 3 cups (tea) of wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- margarine and wheat flour for greasing
- chestnut flakes for decoration
Ingredients – Filling and Topping
- 300g chopped white chocolate
- 1 cup (tea) of hot milk
- 2 tablespoons of margarine
- 200 ml of whey-free cream
Preparation Method
- Blend the walnuts and chestnuts in a blender until crushed.
- Add the egg yolks, sugar, milk and sifted flour and beat a little more.
- Finally, add the beaten egg whites, yeast and mix.
- Grease and flour a round pan, pour in the batter, and bake in a preheated oven at medium heat for 40 minutes. Unmold while still warm.
- For the filling, melt the chopped chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, then add the hot milk, margarine, and cream. Beat.
- Slice the cake horizontally, spread half of the cream, place the other layer of cake, cover with the remaining cream and decorate with the chestnut flakes.
Chocolate Cake with Chestnuts
Ingredients
- 1 cup (tea) of oil
- 2 and a half cups (tea) of hot milk
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups (tea) of wheat flour
- 2 cups (tea) of sugar
- 1 cup (tea) of Chocolate Powder
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- half a teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 cup (tea) of chopped walnuts

- 2 tablespoons of butter

How to Prepare
Mass:
- Blend the dough ingredients in a blender, except for the chopped nuts, adding the liquids to the glass first.
- Mix the chopped nuts, place in a round pan with a central hole (28cm in diameter) and bake in a preheated medium-high oven (200ºC) for about 50 minutes.
- Unmold and cover with the topping.
Coverage:
- Bring all the frosting ingredients to a boil over low heat for two minutes, or until thickened. Turn off the heat, whisk the frosting well with a spoon or fork, and pour it over the still-warm cake.
