The news quickly spread beyond the third floor and spread throughout the hospital. Soon, everyone who heard the news wanted to check it out. As the news spread, the busier the newborn Luiz Davi's room became.

Someone kept coming into the room to check Davi's size, as he was born weighing over 5 kg. A few months ago, another child was born weighing over 5 kg at this same health facility, Santa Casa de Campo Grande. This incident caused great shock throughout the country, and now it has been repeated with the birth of Luiz Davi.

"People walk through the door and ask, 'Where's the giant baby?' I think almost everyone in the hospital came to visit him, take pictures, and he even earned that nickname. It was a shock for me, because even with my history of diabetes, I never imagined a baby this size. The ultrasound showed 3.5 kg, and I wasn't expecting a baby this size. Wow, I was in for a huge shock, and I'm so happy." said mother Jéssica de Souza Alvarenga Abss, just 17 years old G1.

Luiz was born last Monday (22) around 7 pm. The boy was born measuring 52 centimeters and weighing 5.1 kg, the birth had to be by cesarean section.

"The doctors were also very scared at first. It was complicated because the cut was large; only his head had come through, and the rest of his body wouldn't come through. His father also came to visit and was just as scared, but he loved it. My mother also keeps saying, 'Where's Grandma's chubby baby?'" joked Jessica.

Another baby

In February of this year, another big baby was born at the same Santa Casa, Caleb, who surprised everyone with his size and weight. He was born measuring 52.5 centimeters and weighing around 5.3 kg.

"The same thing happened to me as this mother. Everyone wanted to go there to meet him; people kept coming into the room to take pictures. My birth was also a C-section, but I didn't have gestational diabetes, just a history of high blood pressure. He arrived and was nicknamed 'the chubby one from Santa Casa.' It was a shock, too, especially because we didn't imagine his size and weight.", said Maynara.
