Many people hate doing things like sweeping the floor or washing dishes. But a study might change their minds about this. Florida State University published a study they were doing. They released the study reporting that activities like washing dishes, sweeping the floor, and even folding clothes can be good for people's health.
To reach this conclusion, they used 6,000 women between the ages of 65 and 99. They determined that every 30 minutes spent on this type of activity could end up increasing the probability of life by up to 12%. These activities, however, can last more than half an hour, which could cause them to reach a percentage of up to 39% in these cases. The health of the people who participated in this study was monitored over a 3-year period for the research.

According to the study's author, Andrea Z. LaCroix, washing dishes may bring more benefits than expected, such as reducing people's stress levels. Another benefit may be strengthening the immune system.
The author explained a little more about the benefits of what could be proven with the study: “Increasing levels of light and moderate physical activity can be almost as effective as regular rigorous exercise in preventing a major chronic disease. We don’t have to run marathons to stay healthy.”
For those who don't really like this type of activity at home, and do it mostly out of daily obligation, this is good news and may be the extra motivation you were looking for to do these tasks more often and perhaps do them without complaining, since the benefits they bring will be excellent for your health and well-being. This is a great opportunity to start doing activities at home now.
