If the image is blurry, there's a different approach.
A blurry image is a lack of sharpness: the focus went out, the hand shook, or the subject moved. A pixelated or grainy photo is another problem, related to quality, and has a separate guide.
What the sharpness tool returns
- Firmer outlines in face, text, and object.
- Less floppy appearance in photos taken with shaky hands.
- Better readability when shooting in low light.
- An image that can be used to send or repost.
- Explanation on the website, without opening the store on the first screen.
Why is the image blurry?
The phone's sensor needs a moment of stillness to capture a sharp image. If the hand moves, if the child runs, or if the autofocus gets stuck on the background, the file will be blurry. It's not a lack of megapixels. It's a lack of focus at the moment of the click.
There's also the fogging caused by a dirty screen, the plastic of the lens cap, and steam in the bathroom. In this case, no tool will really solve the problem, because the image has already created the fogging effect. Clean the lens and take another test, if possible.
Tool or manual adjustment?
A simple editor (like the phone's own Photos app) has a sharpness control. It increases the contrast at the edges. For photos that are only slightly blurry, this is enough. When the entire face is blurred, the manual control only creates an ugly halo. That's where an image enhancement tool works better, because it reconstructs the outline instead of just increasing the contrast.
If you see pixelated squares when you zoom in, it's not sharp. Go back using the second button and adjust the photo quality.
Does the tool really make the image sharp?
She zooms in. A slightly out-of-focus photo is usually usable. A completely blurry photo, with an unrecognizable face, rarely becomes a sharp portrait. It's worth trying with the expectation of "improving it enough to make it usable," not of fabricating a photo that never existed.
Is it suitable for document photos or prescription pads?
This is useful for making the text more legible when the photo was taken blurry. Do not use the result as if it were the original document. If the photo is for an organization or a bank, the request is usually for the unedited file.
Does it work with screenshots of conversations?
Not much. The printout is already low resolution, and any blurriness, when present, is from the screen itself. It's better to take another one with high brightness and a clean screen.
Do I need a computer?
No. This guide is for mobile devices. If the image is from a large file on a computer, the same type of tool exists in a web version, but the step-by-step instructions on the following page will be for mobile devices.
