Dulce de leche swiss roll

Ingredients

Mass:

  • 1 cup (tea) of wheat flour
  • 1 cup (tea) of sugar
  • 8 tablespoons of water
  • 1 dessert spoon of baking powder
  • 4 eggs

Filling:

  • 1 can of ready-made dulce de leche
  • grated coconut for sprinkling (optional)

Preparation method

  1. Separate the yolks from the whites.
  2. Set aside the egg whites and, in a mixer, beat the egg yolks with the water until smooth.
  3. Add the sugar and continue beating until a light cream forms.
  4. Gradually add the flour, beating constantly, and then the baking powder. Set aside.
  5. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  6. Next, add the beaten egg whites to the reserved mixture, mixing gently.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured rectangular Swiss roll pan.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180º C for 35 minutes.
  9. Once the dough is baked, remove from the oven and turn it over, while still hot, onto a damp tea towel sprinkled with sugar.
  10. Spread the dulce de leche filling over the dough, very carefully.
  11. Finally, roll up the Swiss roll.
  12. You can sprinkle the grated coconut on the filling or on top of the already rolled Swiss roll.
  13. Another tip is to sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Gingerbread Pie

Ingredients – Dough

  • 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 100g unsalted margarine

Ingredients – Filling

  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 2 dessert spoons of grated ginger
  • 1 can of cream without whey
  • 9 tablespoons of powdered milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted margarine

Ingredients – Topping

  • 1 bar of semisweet chocolate (160 – 180g)
  • 1 can of cream with whey

Preparation Method – Dough:

  1. In a bowl, mix the egg, margarine and sugar, mix well and add the flour little by little, when adding the last portion of flour, add the yeast and mix well, line the baking tray and bake in the oven at medium heat for 30 minutes or until golden;
  2. Prepare the filling and topping while the pie crust is baking.

Preparation Method – Tips:

  1. Use fresh ginger, as it has less “lint”;
  2. Milk chocolate can be used for the topping, but the pie will be sweeter;
  3. If you prefer the flavor of ginger to sweet, add 2 tablespoons of grated ginger to the filling.
