Many women think that motherhood is a bed of roses and only the good things are publicized, right? But singer Thaeme Mariôto decided to break the taboo and show her followers the reality.

Thaeme became a mother eight days ago, little Liz was born on Sunday (28) and today the singer posted a photo in which she appears disheveled and with zero makeup because, as she said, time is luxury:

“Look of the day! Hair uncombed for 2 days, unwashed for 3 (because a shower with time to wash is a luxury), destroyed breasts, topless at the moment to sunbathe on the nipples! Absolute reality, we see it here! Happiness too!”

In another post, she joked about two photos of her daughter where she had expectations vs. reality:

“Expectation vs. Reality… Who here can relate?!?! Ps. The gloves don’t stay on the hand, so the yellow socks will do!”

But motherhood is difficult for celebrities, imagine for us mere mortals who don't have the help of an obstetrician and breastfeeding consultants like Thaeme has, and even so, the mother says she is struggling to breastfeed. See the tips she received:

“Ahhh, how wonderful it is to take your little baby home, full of health and with that delicious smell that is only theirs, right? And without a doubt, this is one of the most delightful and exciting phases. But it's also a phase of recognition, learning, and many challenges.

One of the first challenges in the early days is when the milk comes in. This can happen between the third and fifth day of breastfeeding. At this stage, taking some specific precautions is very important to make this stage go more smoothly.

It's common for breasts to become very full, hard, warm, and quite painful. Sometimes you may even feel feverish, like your body is very hot. But there's no fever. The areola and nipple also become more sensitive and fuller, making it difficult for the baby to latch on.

So, whenever you breastfeed, massage the breast and areola well. Make the breast softer and the areola more flexible so you can latch on and position the baby. Do this before every feed, and even relieve milking if necessary. It's not time to pump for storage yet; just relieve the breast.

Another tip is to maintain the latch and support of the breast if it is too heavy. This way, the baby won't slip onto the nipple. Being very careful at this stage is super important to avoid cracks, which are very common at this stage, as the baby slips onto the nipple and can hurt you.

Hot compresses should not be used during this phase. Cold compresses should be prescribed by a professional, as they can cause breast engorgement. Moisturize your nipples with your own milk, there is no better 'ointment' than this.

And if possible, have a Lactation Consultant to help you. They can guide and support you through this most delicate phase. Lots of love and patience because it will pass and in a few days your breasts will become more saggy and this feeling will pass. The baby will be able to breastfeed more and relieve the weight of the breasts.”
